Tape two 2-inch pieces of seamless strip together with the pins facing inwards to make a spacer. Make two spacers. Cut the seamless strips to the length of padding using a scissors. Mark where the edges of padding and runner will be in each treads with a pencil. This will keep your runner centered length of the stairs. Place spacers on pencil rails for padding on the tread and place a segment of seamless strip on spacers with the legs pointing downwards and the smooth side to the riser. Sew to riser to repeat at each step.
